Out Now! – EU Sugar Corporate Social Responsibility Report

EFFAT and the European Sugar Producers (CEFS), released the Sixteenth EU Sugar Corporate Social Responsibility Report as a result of the joint commitment to improving the sustainability of the sugar sector.

As the report covers the years 2020 and 2021, the focus of this edition is on Covid-19 and sustainability. The report proves the sector’s resilience throughout the pandemic, how workers showed astounding dedication to their jobs and how sugar companies moved towards  sustainability.

The report showcases the industry’s initiatives taken to deliver on the eight standards of the code of conduct signed in 2003 between the two organisations. The examples cover human rights, education and training, health and safety, relationship between social partners, working conditions and business relations, as well as choice of suppliers.
